Jet Lag and Jewels: The many faces of Lotta Djossou Paris and some of my designs...

My month working with Lotta Djossou Paris is coming to an end and I'll be going back to Italy soon, so I wanted to share a few more things with you about the incredible experience I've had this past month! I've been thinking about what my favorite part has been and the truth is I can't choose just one thing. I was, however, able to narrow it down to two things:

1. The clientele! Lotta Djossou has a very international fan base, so the people who come into the boutique are from all over the world and it's so much fun talking to them and getting to know them!

2. Creating something special for someone. At the core of it, I believe that jewelry is about having something that brings you joy when you look at it and makes you feel a certain way when you wear it. It should boost your confidence and make you feel fabulous, not because of how it looks to other people, but just because you know you have something unique. Whether it's a piece of fine jewelry that you will keep your whole life and possibly pass down to your children, or a fun piece of bijoux that will maybe accompany you on your adventures for only one season, it has the power to make your day better. That's why for me to be the person to create that unique thing for somebody brings me a deep sense of joy and great excitement!

Il mio mese di lavoro per Lotta Djossou Paris sta per terminare e tra poco tornerò in Italia, così volevo condividere con voi ancora qualche particolare di questo periodo trascorso qui! Ho cercato di individuare quale è stato l'aspetto che più mi ha colpito di questa esperienza e la verità è che non riesco a sceglierne soltanto uno. Sono riuscita, comunque, ad individuare due aspetti che mi hanno emozionato particolarmente:

1. Interagire con i clienti! Lotta Djossou ha dei fan in tutto il mondo, così è sempre un enorme piacere parlare con le persone che entrano nella boutique!

2. L'atto di creare qualcosa di speciale per qualcuno. Io credo che la bellezza di un gioiello sta nel possedere un oggetto che ti dia gioia quando lo guardi e che ti faccia sentire in un certo modo quando lo indossi. Dovrebbe aumentare la tua fiducia in te stessa/o e farti sentire incredibile, non perché lo vedono gli altri, ma semplicemente perché sai te di avere qualcosa di unico. Che sia un pezzo di alta gioielleria che potrai tenere per tutta la vita e forse un giorno tramandare ai tuoi figli, oppure un pezzo di bigiotteria che magari ti accompagnerà nelle tue avventure per una stagione soltanto, quel gioiello ha il potere di migliorare la tua giornata. Per questo motivo, essere la persona che crea quella cosa unica per qualcuno mi regala emozioni fortissime!

I originally created this next one as a headpiece. It was purchased by Carmen Lewis from South Africa, who's now wearing it as a necklace in New York after I modified it a bit!

Inizialmente ho creato questo da indossare come decorazione per la testa. É stata acquistata da Carmen Lewis del Sud Africa, la quale ora la indossa a New York come collana dopo che l'ho modificata leggermente!
