Hey everyone!! So…here I am, sitting by the Christmas tree. It's about 3:00 in the morning here in Paris…and I can't help but feel incredibly happy: not only did I have a wonderful day at work, but today (well, it's after midnight, so technically yesterday) this blog turned 1 year old!! Yup, exactly 1 year ago, I sat gazing at the christmas tree lights, feeling sleepy and cosy…the house was quiet, everyone was asleep and it was completely peaceful. I was about to go to bed, when suddenly I realized that it was the perfect time to actually put into action something I had been thinking about for a long time…it was just the right moment. And so, instead of going to sleep, I got my laptop out and created Jet Lag and Jewels. :)
It's been a really fun, positive year of adventures, amazing projects and cool collaborations...I have met incredible people along the way and have found a great joy in sharing the things I do with all of you. The best days are when I get feedback: anything at all - a quick word, a thought, a question, a request - from a friend, a family member or from someone out there who has come to know me through the simple things that I write and the pictures I post. Jet Lag and Jewels is still taking on a life of it's own, but everything I post represents a part of me and, therefore, no matter how simple or seemingly random, it's all very personal. The most important thing I have come to realize in this year is that, no matter what you start out with (it really doesn't matter how big or how small), if you put yourself out there, positive, like-minded people and incredible opportunities will be attracted to you... All you have to do is start.
I thank each and every one of you who has taken the time to look at my posts and interact in any way - it means the world to me.
So here is to another year of all kinds of exciting new things! There are many adventures ahead - and this is only the beginning!

Ciao a tutti!
Eccomi qui…seduta vicino all'albero di Natale. Sono circa le 3:00 di mattina qui a Parigi…e non posso fare a meno che sentirmi estremamente felice: non solo ho passato davvero una bellissima giornata di lavoro, ma oggi (beh, ormai ieri) questo blog ha compiuto 1 anno!! Eh sì, esattamente 1 anno fa, sono stata seduta sul divano, incantata dalle luci dell'albero e sentendomi comoda e assonnata…tutti erano a letto e la casa era completamente silenziosa e pacifica. Stavo per andare a letto quando, all'improvviso mi sono resa conto che era l'opportunità perfetta per mettere in moto qualcosa che avevo in mente già da tanto…era semplicemente il momento giusto. E così, invece di andare a letto, ho tirato fuori il mio portatile e ho dato vita a Jet Lag and Jewels. :)
Quest'anno è stato veramente positivo e divertente; pieno di avventure, progetti e collaborazioni meravigliose…ho conosciuto persone interessantissime lungo il percorso e ho trovato una gioia immensa nel condividere ciò che faccio con tutti voi. I giorni più belli sono decisamente quelli in cui ricevo del feedback: sotto qualsiasi forma - una parola veloce, un pensiero, una domanda, una richiesta - da un amico/a, da un membro della famiglia o da qualcuno che è venuto a conoscermi attraverso le cose semplici che scrivo e le foto che pubblico. In realtà, Jet Lag and Jewels sta ancora prendendo forma e assumendo una vita propria, ma tutto ciò che scrivo rappresenta una piccola parte di me e, così, nonostante quanto sia semplice o apparentemente "random", tutto quanto è molto personale. La cosa più importante che ho capito in quest'anno è che, non importa con che cosa si inizia (cioè quanto sia in grande o meno), se uno/a semplicemente "si butta" e si rende disponibile, gli saranno attratte persone con una simile visione e opportunità quando meno se lo aspetta…L'importante è iniziare.
Ringrazio ognuno di voi che ha speso del tempo leggendo ciò che scrivo e interagendo in qualsiasi modo - non sapete quanto significhi per me!
E quindi…ecco a un altro anno di novità ed emozioni! Ci sono molto avventure sull'orizzonte - e questo è solo l'inizio!
